Operation permitted. Tried 3x and then uninstall.

Another Phishing App

One Page and one page only. If you want more than one page, then the bait-and-switch tactic of one free page and pay for an upgrade app has taken some of your life that you’ll wish you had back in time.

The text came out garbled, not even a word right.

The text came out garbled, not even a word right. The only reason I can think of, is that the text (in jpg format) was in orange, on white. But it needs further work to find if it is the true reason, or the app is totally bad.

Works Great

Just downloaded this app. It does what it is advertised to do. Copies to searchable pdf really quickly. It also converts to text. I love it.

did not work on El Capitan

This did not work on my macbook air 2012 (OS: El Capitan)

It works!

It does exactly what it says, and it does it quickly. Very useful possibility to download tons of languages.

Used free version: Good

I used the free version of this tool. Worked well in converting a scanned PDF image into text. But, there are page limits for the free version.

PIECE OF FRAUDULENT GARBAGE—DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$

I have a brand new iMac and this piece of garbage software DOES NOT work. In my opinion, it is a fraud on the public and the seller should be held accountable. I have to believe that any “favorable” reviews are also frauds and not true satisfied customers. If I had more time, I’d report the seller to the authorities.

REALLLY Bad

Only one page scans, and even for that it doesn’t look like the original page. It should look the same, just be searchable. Don’t convert it to text edit. Useless.

Very accurate!

This saved me a TON of typing! I had a poor copy of a page (it even had a long vertical line going through the text), but this app had no problem reading it. Yeah, some of the characters where the line was going through it were corrupted, but that was to be expected. Love it!

Does not work

After you open software and load the file and click “convert” nothing happens. Useless software and a waste of your time.

don’t bother

I have found this OCR tool to have a high error rate. I could probably enter the document faster, than if I use this OCR program and then fix all the errors.

MacBook Air 10.11 El Capitan - Nov 27, 2016

Just used PDF OCR X with a scanned PDF - grayscale 300dpi. Worked great! One minor typo - a “J” was converted to an “I”. Haven’t used OCR in many years. This worked better than I remember. Software even tried to convert the handwriting - worked on some of the numbers! If I do more OCR, will purchase software.

didn’t work for me

Would not convert a PDF, Help section wasn’t helpful.

Simple & performant

Tried the community version on 4 different PDF scanned images and the results were almost perfect. A few little glitches caused by some signatures/hand writing overlapping the typed characters but for any clear typed text I noted 100% success. I only tried the option to convert to text. Simple clear interface, good choice of language packs (I used French).

Trial version is so trial

The trial version only works on the first page of the document. You also need to download the language plugins, other than english.

thx so much

The app is great, just wonderfull. It is not perfect, but it does 99% right and what more can i expect from a free app. GRATITUDE!

Save Time

When given a PDF of a scan you could retype it but why bother when you can drop it into PDF OCR X and let the magic begin…

Don

Program was fine and worked well. BUT not it wants to update. So I clicked to update. NOW it is frozen on update..and cannot get it to dissapear from the App store. And no one is listening.

Format not retained

The format of the original scanned PDF is not retained so, to use the converted document, you must reformat it yourself, which can be exessively time consuming.
